"Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children"

I am VERY excited to be involved with this club! Shunk Togeja Oyadabi means Wolf People and that is the name of our club. We are a club with an open door policy you do no need to be Native American to join, if you want to learn, have fun, hang out, and be a part of something come join us. We will do just that! So far our students have been very active in serving the community and getting involved. We have a lot of things happening this year. Come Join!
Some of the events planned are helping with Pow-Wows, having talking circles, inviting guest speakers, learning to make fry bread, learning to make bannock bread, learning to make dry meat, learning to make choke cherry and june berry soups, learning to bead, learning tribal government, going on field trips to tribal council meeting and most importantly, I plan to have our students take the pledge to graduate for the ones who have not yet taken the pledge and for other students perhaps the whole school. some of our Wolf People took the pledge last year at the MIEA conference with our Superintendent, Denise Junea. http://graduationmatters.mt.gov/ Our goal this year is planning a trip toward the end of the school year to the Montana Indian Education Association Conference (MIEA) which will be held in Billings,MT. This is a educational trip for all students across Montana who come together and meet new friends and enjoy attending workshops. http://www.mtiea.org.html This club is to help the student be aware of the native history. |
